October 2nd–3rd, 2026
The Bucknell Humanities Center is excited to host a two-day symposium exploring the nation’s founding from diverse, cross-disciplinary perspectives. Through our dynamic programming, faculty, students, staff, and community members will have the opportunity to reflect on and engage the import and legacies of 1776. Our discussions will be broad and capacious, highlighting the American Revolution in its historical contexts and beyond, while probing 1776’s ties to the American experience of government, literature, philosophy, religion, ideology, economics, social hierarchy, and more. All are welcome!
