Discoveries produced by natural science clearly exemplify what it means to create knowledge. But discovery is a social process — a process that closely resembles the practices that define scholarly activity in the humanities. In this provocative lecture, philosopher Chris Haufe will draw out unappreciated features of the development of scientific knowledge that highlight its many parallels with the humanities.
